SUAC’S COMPREHENSIVE SECURITY PLAN

For the benefit of residents who were unable to attend our first residents meeting, please find below our comprehensive security plan which will be implemented as soon as feasible and IF funding allows for such.
In addition to our current 24 hour patrolling, SUAC plans to implement the following initiatives:

1) The introduction of a dual car sticker system. The term dual refers to stickers that are placed at both, the front and rear windscreens. This will aid our guards in identifying cars moving in either direction. All residents will be required to have such stickers.

2) The installation of CCTV’s at all 3 of our entrances / exits.

3) The deployment of sentry guards at all 3 of our entrances / exits.

4) The closure of the 5/5 (off phase 1) and 5/12 (off 5/1) entrances during the hours of 11am to 5pm and 11pm to 5am. These times were selected as most of our crime occurs at these times and to reduce the inconvenience to our residents.

SUAC is hopeful that we will be able to implement these measures as it will create a multi-tier security system. Our car sticker initiative will be twice as effective if implemented along with the deployment of sentry guards. Our CCTV’s can only be installed when we have sentry guards to guard against theft and vandalism of these cameras. The closure of the said entrances can only be implemented when we have sufficient funds to build boom gates at 5/12. Finally, all these measures can only be implemented if you, the residents, show your support and join our scheme. I urge all our residents to participate through their monetary contribution and take a more active role by speaking to their neighbours on the need to fully secure our community. IF we are able to work together, we can make a difference.

  1. neal,
an idea what is the top reason(s) why majority residents refuse to participate the effort?

no money? do not trust the committee? dont care less? they feel they got nothing to lose? they feel they would never be targetted as there are more much more lucrative targets around? or most non-participants are just renting house here?

maybe by knowing why they dont want to join would help SUAC to better address their reluctance.

this may sound stupid, but do you think SUAC can start selling nasi lemak & newspaper in the morning to help fund the effort? this way we may get some support and funding from non-participating residents.

As for the reasons for non-participation, they vary from a lack of confidence in SUAC's ability probably a result of bad experiences from the past to just can't be bothered to just plain cheap. This is why we have a no-pay no-service policy. We are making a last ditch effort to save our community from crime. Please talk to your neighbours. As for the nasi lemak idea ~ SUAC (all 27 of us) are working very hard - day in and day out. We are out each evening talking to residents. We spent considerable time on organising the event. Would you be so kind as to organise a team of people to implement your idea. Your contribution will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  4. Dear SUAC,
Just want to share with you an article published in The Sun on 20 Dec (in case you did not see it and also for SUAC community awareness).
    quote:
"Some 80 residents assoc in K D'sara will soon have a combined task force to improve crime prevention and foster greater unity in the area. K D'sara assemblyman Mohd Nasir Hashim said the task force will serve as a pressure group to push the gov't, police and local council for action." unquote.
