Circular: Security Updates

EGM 23mar2013Dear Residents,

1) As you are all aware, there was a Selangor wide immigration raid on foreign workers. SUAC lost 4 guards during this raid. Our guards are legal in Malaysia and had proper work permits. The issue for them was that their permits were for different sectors, namely, construction. While almost 86% of all security firms use such foreign workers to fulfil the role of security guards, due to shortage of available manpower to perform such duties, it was nonetheless an unfortunate incident. SUAC is working hard on their release.

2) As a result, SUAC plans on tweaking our system whereby we will be engaging a licensed security firm to provide us with Nepali guards who hold official security permits. The new sentry guards will officially report for duty in a matter of days.

3) With the added cost of such services comes the bad news. SUAC has no choice but to increase our quarterly fee to RM200, which works out to approximately RM68 / month. This is still lower than our neighbouring tamans who have also increased their fees. We thank each of you, in advance, for your continued support.

4) At the EGM held on the 24th March, 2013, the building of the guard house was discussed. The majority of our residents present agreed that the guard houses should be built. The committee plans to begin such construction in mid-April.

5) SUAC wishes to thank all the residents who participated in the EGM and more so those who volunteered to assist the committee in achieving its goal of having top notch security for all our residents.

6) Guarded members are reminded that SUAC does have a hotline and members are advised to use the service during emergencies or to report any untoward activity. SUAC Hotline ~ 012 238-5508.

SUAC – securing your slice of paradise..

  1. I fully support the increase in the fees so as to be able to afford better security service e.g. a proper security company/personnel with relevant immigration permit and better guard house(s). I would also like to recommend that the security model used by SUAC be implemented by the Security Company as it has been proven to be very good. My family felt that we were so secured and safe.

As for the increase in security fee it is high time we be matured enought to realise that (i) the value of money where RM50 per month is almost amount to nothing - a family eating out at a mamak shop once can easily spend RM50, (ii)we have to accept the fact that there will always be residents who only want to enjoy the security at the expense of others.

I really want to extend my family's gratitude to all the committee members, other supporters, including those who volunteered as informal rukun tetangas and those making the EGM a success. We will always give our fullest support.

Thank you so, so much for having addressed our security matters promptly. Another demonstration of your capability and dedication.

    Enough said, I think.

  4. I dont think we are at 100% of what we were prior to the immigration event. Can someone clarify whats the status of our security is? Are unstickered cars followed like previously? When do you expect us to be at full force again? Thx, Muiz
