SUAC RESPONDS TO HORRIFYING PARANG ATTACK

It was indeed a horrifying experience for our guards. Crime is on the rise in Kota Damansara. Some guards in Section 6 have been spotted arming themselves with parangs. New gangs have penetrated Kota Damansara. The stories of happenings at other tamans in KD are just as horrifying, if not more. Why do we have to live in fear? Where are the authorities? Where do we turn for help?

SUAC’s immediate plan:

1) Post 2 will be manned by 2 guards instead of one.

2) Sirens will be installed at both guard houses.

3) Our guards have been advised not to fight these criminals. Should such criminals attempt to enter our taman again (we know they will), guards have been told to allow them entry. Guards have been briefed on our new emergency protocol (EP). The EP will be activated only when our “guarded” members or their property are deemed to be at risk or in danger.

4) “Guarded” members are rest assured that SUAC has your interest at heart. Our guards have been briefed thoroughly on maintaining your security.

OCPD ACP Arjunaidi is now aware of the matter. This is not the first time that Seri Utama has been under attack. There have been numerous incidents that have been horrifying. We put this one video on our blog as we were able to capture the entire footage from our CCTV. SUAC is in a dilemma; should we highlight the numerous incidents or not? We don’t wish to scare our residents on one hand but the reality must also be highlighted.

SUAC is now hoping to arrange for a meeting with OCPD ACP Arjunaidi and also PEMANDU. If we are able to arrange for such a meeting, SUAC will like to highlight the dangers we face day in and day out and also put forth the many ideas that we have.

So far, residents of Phase 2 & 3 have been safe. Our guards are doing a fantastic job. Unfortunately, we also face the problem with numerous residents who have stopped paying citing that the security is so good that they feel that they can stop paying. This results in strains on our monthly budget. If this continues, SUAC may have to stop our current system and resort to the old system with half the number of guards. The decision lies with you, our residents.

  1. Just to inform SUAC and our residents that in section 6 about 2 weeks ago, a guard was robbed and killed.

Are you sure you want to let the criminals in the taman. Doesn't that put us in danger.

Anyways, looks like SUAC knows what they are doing. A true salute to the committee for the hard work.

  2. 1) A check with the Police showed that the incident mentioned above did occur and such information will be published in our upcoming circular.

    2) Guarded members will continue to be safe. Our new Emergency Protocol (EP) is designed to keep our Guarded members safe.

    3) Thanks for the compliments.

p/s: SUAC is unable to reveal details of the new EP for security reasons.

  7. The list of incidences would be too long for a blog post but here are recent events that our guards have dealt with:

    1) A sole motorcyclist snuck into post 2 armed with a knife and some sacks. His intentions were definitely criminal. The guards chased him down and kicked him off his bike forcing him to lose control and take a tumble. The police were called in and an arrest was made.

    2) 3 house fires which were spotted by the guards. The bravery of the guards in extinguishing the fires using forced entry resulted in lifes possibly saved.

    3) Attempted entry by motorbike gangs.

    4) Entry by possible syndicates in fancy cars providing fake addresses. As these cars are tailed, they would park and engage in phone conversations. Once the time limit of 2 minutes is up, the guards would approach them and some would speed off while others will abuse and intimidate the guards and then leave.

    5) Unauthorized entry by bikes from post 3 circling our streets possibly looking for opportunities. Stopped and escorted to the nearest exit by our guards.

The list goes on and on. Sufficient to say, our guards are well trained and are doing a great job. We must, however, as residents continue to be vigilant and participate in the PRI as mentioned in our last circular.

  8. This Taman has the best and most stringent security measures i have ever seen. Add to that the fact that we are not in a properly designed gated community, but more of an ad-hoc one, driven by necessity, just shows how good a job that's been done by all involved. SUAC has definitely earned THIS residents respect and gratitude!!

  9. Agree that Guards are well trained and great testimonies.
On another note, they are also sms experts.

  11. Guards are allocated sectors. During the Puasa month, they are allowed to rest for longer periods. Sector for G4 is 5/9, 5/10, 5/11 and half of 5/12. He is able to view most of his sector from the park. SUAC will ensure that he doesn't use this as an excuse not to patrol.

Use of cell phones during work hours is strictly prohibited.

Thanks for the feedback. Should you notice the use of personal phones, kindly advise us immediately. You can sms the hotline. Thanks again.

  12. "Use of cell phones during work hours is strictly prohibited."
u can ask residents if this is adhered to. Guard g4, g6 seen talking on the phone
11.15am today whilst taking a rest at the play ground. Is this permitted ?
i have seen guards wearing diff vest, WHY ?

I m glad with your committee's committment to protect the residents. Please check on your guards, especially the pakistanis, what are they actually doing besides patrolling and doing their job. This is very serious and i hope your head of security check on each of them.

  13. We would not want to scare the residents and this is very serious.

  14. Thank you for the feedback. G4 and G6 will be dealt with for their infraction of using handphones during work hours. The different vests is to differentiate between SUAC guards and those of Phase 4. The vests of SUAC guards have "SUAC" on the back of their vest. Kindly ensure that the complaints are related to SUAC guards. We have no rights or control over the Phase 4 guards. We must respect the autonomy of the Phase 4 committee in dealing with their guards.
One of the problems SUAC currently faces is the lack of volunteers to assist in managing the operations. Also, with the new committee in place, there is bound to be a transition period where the new members get used to the system, it's operations and the monitoring of such. Thanks again for your feedback and keep it coming.

  15. Thank you for your timely reply. I have seen guards swapping vests. Well its not important as long as they are doing their job. Something else you might wish to consider is why they are always on the phone, these guys have little to spend on leisure right. Excluding the pakistanis, the rest dont use phones when on duty.
Maybe some back ground would help: http://propakistani.pk/2010/07/15/pakistan-or-pornistan/

  16. 1) Guards are not allowed to swap vests. Today was an exception as G4 was wearing the vest belonging to G6.

    2) G4 has been moved to a different sector so as to allow us to better monitor his activities.

    3) All guards will be briefed again on the use of cell phones.

    4) We reserve comment on the link you provided.

    5) Thanks again for your feedback. It is much appreciated.
