THE SENTRY GUARDS HAVE ARRIVED!!

Dear Residents,

Please be advised that our sentry guards have arrived. We will now have to undergo a period of intense training and resume our system that served us well. Please be patient during this training period as it will take them some time to get accustomed to our strict system. In the meantime, we ask for your co-operation in advising your guests to use Post 1. Residents who wish to use Post 2 are urged to get their car stickers if they have not already done so. As always, we would love to hear your feedback which can be posted on this blog. We look forward to your continued support.

  1. Well done and thank you, SUAC. Are we having the same number of patrolling guards? It seems the number has reduced.

  2. The guard did not check those on bikes from entering the taman. They just go in and out freely. It happened this morning at post 2.

    1. Thanks and noted on your observation. The new guards from the security company need some time to be trained up. They are not like the previous guards which was pre-selected to perform. Bear with us as we train them.

  3. Well done SUAC. Seems we are on track to where we left. I still dont see any security hanging around the playground area as we had before. Especially in the afternoon and at night when there are joggers and kids.

BTW: please ensure none of our foreign security staff go "voting" this Sunday... :)

  4. My car was smashed n laptop was stolen this morning from 1am-6am ,when I arrived home at 1230am. My car was parked at the lane which connects 5/6 n 5/7. One of the neighbors that is staying nearest to the incident told me my car was found smashed by senior citizen who went for jogging at 6am. Yes leaving my laptop in the car is 1 issue. The efficiency of the new guards is another issue n should not be taken lightly for safety of the ppl in this area. We can look at this in 2 point of view, firstly, Are the guards allowing strangers to patrol freely around this area, which they seemed to have the time to either scan or check if any valuable stuffs are still inside the car? Are the guards not patrolling in the middle of the night? Because the incident isn't far away from the guardhouse.Secondly, Or is this an INSIDER-job?? Where guards themselves did it? The 2nd point maybe harsh but it is worth considering all the possibilities.WHY? I have been putting my laptop in the car for the past 1 year no less. Park the same place almost every night due to the lack Of parking space since inside my house can only parked 2 cars. Nth happened for the past 1 year until today. When this batch of guards came in. Then I personally suffered n lost confidence in the safety that the guards used to provide us. Not to be mix up, these are just allegations not accusations. When this incident happened, we tend to question what is the point of having guards if they cant handle at night?they are the only ppl who are awake n its their duty to guard the safety of cars n houses! It is only FAIR for the people in this area to be aware that this sort of things are actually happening in our area!! It's not safe anymore!! Please take more precaution everyone. SUAC shud tighten the securities at night, add more guards to night shift. Because everyone is awake in broad daylight hence less dangerous compared to the night. I don't wish to see another victim in our area again. Its shocking n frightening. Pls advice.

    1. Hi Fashion Spaceship...

No offence. Are you guarded btw? Just asking coz my neighbour also did the same (non guarded).... she was drunk when she came back one nite and next morning complained to me and to the taman that her car was broken into but in actual fact it was already happened outside of the taman when she was in a drinking session somewhere.

      Just a thought.

    2. I'm not guarded. So if I'm not guarded guards can allow strangers to patrol in this area freely ?How about the residents who paid the guards for the safety of this area? What r the fees for?the least they can do is dont allow strangers to hang out in this area long enough to have the chance to smash into ppl's cars.it's just ridiculous. I'm pretty sure I'm not the first case. Or perharps it gives the guard the right to steal my things smashed my car cos I'm not guarded? Just a thought:) FYI, I wasn't drunk high or anything. I'm 100% sober.Communities it is time to face the problem of efficiency and trustworthiness within the guards. Clearly this incident led to jeopardizing the safety of ppl. Please Dont take another irrelevant incident to compare(I was 100%sober). Face what is actually happening RIGHT NOW. Im writing in as a victim of this case, while u r speaking based on a third party's point of view. U might not know it may be anyone of u. So i urge everyone not to take this incident lightly.

Aim for a safer environment !

    3. With reference to the above incident, SUAC has completed its' exhaustive investigation into the matter. As our guarded members are well aware, SUAC takes each incident very seriously and makes the required changes to our system to address any flaws that may exist. In response to the blog entry claiming theft of laptop, our comments are as follows;

      1) The streets in our taman are deemed public roads. Our system allows entry to outsiders into our taman. To counter the legal right of such entrants, our guards will tail any car or person(s) to ensure that our guarded members and their property is protected, to the best of their ability.

      2) Our guards are strictly instructed to protect only the interests of our guarded members. To be clear, our guards will not interfere with a break-in that occurs to a non-paying residents home. Our guards will not stop the theft or break-in of a vehicle belonging to a non-paying resident. Finally, our guards will not take any measures should a non paying residents home be on fire. In this case, the car in question belonged to a non paying resident.

      3) SUAC has enough circumstantial evidence to piece the incident. Given that the car in question belongs to a non-paying resident, the committee has decided not to disclose any details of such investigation.

      4) SUAC is absolutely convinced that the guards performed their jobs in accordance with the operating procedures as set out by the committee.

      5) SUAC finds it ironic that the said resident is requesting for more night guards when she refuses to contribute to our collective safety.

      6) SUAC finds it appalling that this resident would point the finger at the guards before having any evidence of such. It's always easy to blame the defenseless. SUAC will not tolerate such belligerence. We have full confidence and trust in our guards.

      7) The author speaks of having lost her confidence in the guards. Please note that the SUAC guards are strictly to protect our 'guarded' members and their property to the best of their ability. Non paying residents are not entitled to any of SUAC services and should not have any false sense of security.

      8) Finally, to our guarded members. While SUAC strives to have the best security and we have been fortunate so far, please be advised that we cannot guarantee a fool proof system. Gated and Guarded communities such as Desa Park, Tropicana, Sierramas, Valencia and numerous condominiums in Hartamas have had incidences of theft and break-ins. While we always strive for the best, members are reminded to take the necessary precautions and to be alert of your surroundings. Should you suspect something untoward, please do not hesitate to call our hotline(012-2385508). Our guards will be happy to address any immediate security issues.

    4. Partially agreeing with Fashion Spaceship, the security does feel a little less tight than before. Dodgy vehicles (cars, motorbikes) are seen quite frequently. Also I've noticed that visitors who come over to house are not tailed as tightly as before, if at all.

In defence of SUAC, there is no fool proof security for make shift "gated" taman like ours. But that should not be an excuse. With regards to Fashion Spaceship unfortunate incident, I agree with his own statement, keeping laptop in the car is a BIG NO NO. Doing it everynight for one year is suicidal. Yes, it could be an insider job- not necessarily the guards. Tempting anyone with criminal tendencies by leaving your valuables in a car park outside every night for more than a year?

  5. Hi Suac,

I'm a contributor and I too have felt that the patrol has not been as tight as before and the sentry guard at post 2 was seen on his phone today just allowing any cars in and out without even looking.
