HOW IT’S ALL GONNA WORK…

Dear Residents,

The time has come for implementation of our next step in ensuring the safety and security of Seri Utama. Barring any delay by the engaged security company, our sentry services will commence on Saturday, April 9th. Such sentry services will complement our patrolling guards. The details of such are as follows:

1) Post 1 (JSP 5/5 intersecting JSP 5/1) will serve as our main entrance. All visitors must use this entrance and will be subject to registration. Visitors must be able to provide an exact destination. The sentry will then radio the vehicle number and destination to our patrolling guards who will then ensure that such vehicle is in fact headed for that destination.

2) Post 2 (JSP 5/12 intersecting JSP 5/1) will be open 24 hours a day and will be manned by a sentry guard. This entrance / exit will be maintained as a ‘valid sticker entrance / exit’ only.

3) Post 3 (JSP 5/5 intersecting JSP 5/2) will be open from the hours of 6am to 10 am and 6pm to 10pm. This entrance / exit will be maintained as a ‘valid sticker entrance / exit’ only.

4) All residents are kindly advised to obtain their stickers from their respective street reps prior to the official launch date to minimize any inconvenience. Paying members must obtain their “G” stickers while non-paying members must obtain their “R” stickers.

5) A copy of the MOU signed between SUAC and the committee representing Phase 4 can be viewed on our blog - http://seriutama2n3.blogspot.com/. The agreement calls for the sharing of all costs in maintaining Post 1 on a pro-rata basis while all costs relating to Post 2 will be borne by SUAC and all costs for Post 3 will be borne by the residents of Phase 4.

6) SUAC intends to maintain very strict control over the procedures at each entry point. Residents are advised to cooperate fully with the guards to ensure a safe and secure Seri Utama. The police have volunteered to assist in dealing with any resident that chooses not to cooperate or comply with our policies.

7) Despite my personal plea for greater participation by our residents, the result was dismal. Many of our residents either fail to see the value of an enhanced security system or would rather live off the charity of their neighbours. Security is not a right but rather a privilege. Many of you may be aware of the recent ‘parang’ incident that occurred very close to home. It is now up to each of you to decide the fate of SUAC and Seri Utama.

I truly hope that each of you will continue to support our initiatives. SUAC’s efforts are for the good of the community. Our primary goal is to provide our children and families with a safe environment. Once again, thank you for your support and let’s unite to make Seri Utama a safe and secure paradise.

Neal Ramchandani

Secretary, SUAC

  2. bravo for the effort but i feel frustrated seeing irresponsible people throwing their rubbish not at the right location...eyesore seeing 3 ..4 black rubbish bags on the empty field near the thb substation... these people thought that they can dump the rubbish anywhere..no civic minded. also to get mbpj to toll those old used cars park at the road side..committe members, pls act on this.

  3. Well done. I glad it has all worked the way we hoped. Just one question: I assume there is a grace period for the stickers as I see many cars coming in through the "valid sticker only" entrance without any sticker. How long before you get strict? I hope it doesnt become like the previous sentry "angkat tangan" only can pass..

  4. Great question! Well, you're right, there was a grace period and the grace period has had to be extended. The distribution / collection of car stickers is not complete. We were hoping that residents would play a more active role in acquiring such stickers but this has not been the case. Full implementation will lead to confrontation and traffic chaos. We must accept that any system newly introduced must be allowed to evolve into the original plan. It would be much simpler for SUAC to instruct the guards to be very strict but this will surely lead us to failure. Thank you for your support and patience.

  5. Excellent Job SUAC ! Seri Utama feels safe once again and we truly hope that mr harrier/bimmer would think twice before they act in our neighbourhood. Its also good idea to keep the boom gate raised during weekends at post 3. I don’t think breakins ever happened during weekends, maybe consider closing it again during festive season. Otherwise 6-10 (am & pm) works for us. Well Done guys, keep it up. Truly hope that all residents will play their part when it comes to stickers, fees etc for the sake of our safety. It you don’t believe this system will work,NOTHING WILL, not even 1M. May God Bless SUAC and the leaders.

Before i go, can SUAC help residents and report to those involved in the road resurfacing. Apparently the work was badly done, some residents paid as much as RM200 to tar the front portion of their homes after they were told that their street is involved and if they dont tar it, they will have to bear with a puddle of water once it rains. Only after the contractors left, residents were furious as their streets were actually not affected. So SUAC, how would you treat these day light robberies ? i m sure they were caught on the cttv. Also the speed bumps were not raised and also not re-painted, how rediculous !!! I noticed not many kids on their bikes nowadays as cars travel so fast and its really frustrating, can SUAC work on this as we dont have any clue who was involved in the resurfacing, SU contractor or MPPJ. thanks guys

  7. First, let me apologize for the delayed response. SUAC has been busy sorting out sentry issues. Second, thank you for the compliments and the blessings.

On the issue of resurfacing, it is indeed a shame that our residents were tricked by these thugs. SUAC had no idea that these tricksters were lying to the residents. A hard lesson learnt. As such, tar resurfacers will no longer be allowed into our taman to solicit homes for such. With regard to the speed barriers, SUAC will address this issue with the phase 4 committee. SInce the streets involved are in phase 4, we should allow the respective committee to act.

    Thanks for your feedback.

  8. With regards to the speed bumps, I believe most are illegally placed by the previous committee. I, however, have no problems with it BUT it has to be the correct size/dimension. Some of the speed bumps are actually damaging our car suspension and underside body. A few I can mention is surrounding the phase 4 playground; one as we pass the entrance (small and sharp bump) and another by the side road (big, but HIGH). I know for a fact that these were illegally placed by the nearby homeowner to slow down cars in front of their home and the other was to discourage cars using the side road (no proof tho)..

What I am trying to say is, if you want to do a speed bump, do it properly- not so high and wide. Narrow and high is bad for our cars.. If you look at the MBPJ bumps, they are at least 3 feet wide. It serves its function to slow down cars yet still comfortable to drive over.. Trying to save cost in short term will cost a lot more in repairs long term.. Not to mention if someone decides to bring the damage costs to court for illegal bumps..

    just my 2 sens..
