Boom-Gate

The boom-gate at post 1 was hit by a water delivery truck at approximately 10:30am on Saturday, October 22. As the delivery was made to a resident at 5/18, SUAC has decided to leave the responsibility of the repair to the Phase 4 committee.

  1. Hopefully the Ph 4 committee will do something about it soon, although I'm not holding my breath....

  3. Unfortunately, the phase 4 committee has decided that they do not want to bear the cost of repair. SUAC feels that it would be wrong to use our residents funds to pay for their mishap. It is rather frustrating. With the closure of post 3, the phase 4 committee also refuses to pay their share of the costs of post 2 which is heavily utilized by their residents. SUAC cannot subsidize the residents of phase 4. SUAC funds belong to our residents and must be utilized in a manner that enhances the security of our residents and NOT theirs. No worries, SUAC will come up with an alternative plan. Stay tuned.

  4. Thanks George for the update and SUAC's hard work in keeping our community safe.

When I made the comments on October 24, it was a forgone conclusion that the boom gate is a goner, and the Phase 4 committee would not do anything about it.

Anyway, if SUAC decides to raise funds from residents under its purview to replace the boom gate, I would gladly participate.

  5. To keep this reply short, there exists just too many issues to be resolved with phase 4. SUAC is always willing but it takes 2 to tango. Sometimes, a divorce on grounds of irreconciable differences is better than staying together and hating it.

  6. Keep up the good work SUAC and all guarded Phase 3 residents. Personally the gate repair should be the responsibility of the lorry driver/company. I dont think the resident or phase 4 should fork out the repair, but they hv a responsibility to demand for the damages from the company. Anyhow, I am sure we are all very pleased with the current security arrangements and would like it to continue.. SUAC has at least my support..
