Circular 4/2011

Dear Residents,

1) SUAC is pleased to announce that we have completed our registration as an RA. We are officially registered as Seri Utama (Phase 2 & 3) Residents Association (Persatuan Penduduk Fasa 2 Dan 3 Seri Utama)

2) SUAC is also pleased that we have achieved a participation rate of 80% membership. We are honoured by the confidence instilled in us to carry out the task of making our little paradise a safe one. SUAC continues to plead for more members to further enhance our security.

3) We are anxiously awating the consent to rebuild our guardhouses. All necessary paperwork has been complied and ready for submission to the relevant authorities.

4) SUAC truly hopes that each of you is pleased with our current level of security. It has been a long road for many of us. Further tightening measures will be implemented shortly. Technical details had to be ironed out prior to implementing such.

5) As a result of the increased costs of maintaining security, primarily due to the added cost of sentry services, SUAC regrets to inform you that our monthly fee will have to be raised to RM50 per month, effective July 1st. While the monthly cost of RM50 is still one of the lowest, we must examine the quality of service received. SUAC truly hopes that we will have your continued support as we are a mere proxy for our residents.

6) When the car sticker system was developed, it was done at a time when we strictly had patrolling guards. Now that our sentry system is in place, please be advised that rear stickers are neither necessary nor valid. Cars attempting to enter our streets with rear stickers placed on front windshields will be stopped. SUAC apologizes for any inconvenience.

7) One of the major issues facing our guards is that of verbal abuse. Please be kind to our guards, they are human too. Another issue that results in traffic jams at Post 1 is one where our visitors are not aware of the address of the residents that they are visiting. Residents are kindly advised to notify their visitors of their address. Your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

8) SUAC desperately requires street reps for JSP 5/6 and 5/8. To date, these streets have been mostly served by volunteers living outside of such streets. Kindly volunteer to ensure that the streets mentioned have a voice in determining our future course.

9) SUAC HOTLINES have been off-line for the past 2 weeks. We regret to inform you that we have been forced to obtain a new number. Kindly be informed that our new HOTLINE is 012-238-5508. This number is for our members’ use in case of emergency, 24 / 7.

10)Finally, numerous residents have complained that they lack car stickers and are unable to get them. SUAC is conducting a one week exercise to alleviate this problem. Any resident who wishes to purchase car stickers can send a sms to 012-673-9035 stating their name, address and number of stickers required. You will be attended to once SUAC is able to complete verification of residence.

SUAC wishes to thank all residents for their support and co-operation. Should there be any complaints / suggestions, do visit our blog at http://seriutama2n3.blogspot.com/ and drop us a line.

  3. be kind to others including our security guards. but sad to say most people in the country lacks this basic human trait. how sad...

  4. Thanks for the comments. The increase in security fees is attributable to the increased costs of providing security, ie; sentry services. I think most would agree that the sentry guards have made a difference in us feeling more secure. Your continued support is always appreciated and will enable us all to live in a more secure environment. With regard to the show of respect for our guards, I think most of you would be shocked at the language thrown at our guards. In order to protect the dignity of our guards, your Security Bureau pays a visit to the foul mouth resident. These are generally non-paying residents who are not content that they are getting free security but choose to vent their anger at the guards only because they feel they can. Low self-esteem, perhaps? We must treat our guards with respect and dignity if we expect them to protect us. no doubt, it's a sad world...

  5. Well done committee, fees paid and Yes respect your neighbours as yourself. I just wish to highlight that one of you guards with motorcyle plate “3492”, sorry I could not remember the rest, was riding recklessly the other day and squeezed between 2 cars. I was in one of the cars and felt really annoyed because he is one of our guards....MY FEEES !!! MY SUGAR !!! and I had to avoid him, how ridiculous. My question is, can we fully trust these guards and I must add that he is not a msian for sure. Msian still have hope, not sure about BOLEH !

  6. Thank you for highlighting this issue. My personal investigation into this issue reveals that the guard you referred to is from Post 3 and as such falls under the jurisdiction of the Phase 4 committee. This guard is not employed nor engaged by SUAC. I understand you had a word with our night supervisor on this matter. As a result of your complaint, I will ensure that Phase 4 guards do not enter our streets. Thanks again.

  8. AGAIN !!! MORE BAD NEWS SERI UTAMA RESIDENTS !!!! I was told by my neighbour that one family was robbed yesterday 11th Aug at 10am, YES During the day and the family was threatened with parang. They greeted the ill fated family in a heavily tinted Honda Civic. Another break-in happened last month on the same street, around 5/19, I believe its not under SUAC BUT its only a matter of time it will hit SUAC, yes it will unless the guards buck up. We as residents have highlighted this countless times, STOP all heavily tinted glass cars as stickers wont help now, these guys would have their own stickers now and have also taken your guards for teh tarik. Check your guards, most of the time, chatting and playing with hand phone, instead of vigilant of unwelcome strangers. .
Please send a circular out to ALL RESIDENTS informing them about these incidents and have another look at our crime rates statistic, lower mate ?

  9. 1) "we as residents have highlighted....." - what are you reffering to?

    2) Can you tell me which guards are playing or chatting on their handphones? If you spot a guard doing such, you as a resident has a responsibility to tell the guard to stop. Wht does the committe have to do it all.

    3) Your rant is based on your emotions. Ask yourself, how are you contributing?

    4) Its very easy to yell or rant...I've spent 10 months of my time building this system for phase 2 & 3. I've sacrificed my family time and my work time. What have you done?

    5) Kindly make your crticism constructive. If you don't like what SUAC is doing, start your own committee and let's see if you can do better.

    6) Please don;t say that its only a matter of time that SUAC gets hit. We don't need such statements.

    7) It's bad enough that my hard work goes unappreciated and to top it off, I have to hear such garbage. Sad world we live in....

  10. I personally think that the security has improved alot since SUAC took over. Friends of mine who came visit praised the sentry guards for stopping the cars and asked for details. No doubt that there will be issues here and there. We cannot expect all the guards to be 100% dedicated all the time. Thats a reality. We will always need to work together with the committee in order to safeguard our neighborhood. We can't just expect them to work alone, it's just unfair. Let's work together and back each other up. Neal, please be assured that many of us really appreciate what you have done and that your effort never goes unnoticed. Keep up the good work!

  11. Dear Neal, we residents always appreciate what you have done and all the hard work, Just wished earlier points as the other sentry system is on the verge of a breakdown and they need your help urgently.
Otherwise SUAC image will be hampered.

Fact - residents from 5-19 said that SUAC is to be blamed for the breakins as SUAC placed their guards at major entry points. Its just a opinion to trail/check heavily tinted cars as their cars have broken the basic regulations and Why they break the law at the first instance ? Sincerely apologise for making unreasonable remarks. As for input, i do share my comments on behalf of my neighbours who are illiterate and we never make a single complaint when SUAC raised rates, coupled with the fact that we are first to pay and last to be reminded to pay up. Many apologies and we will pray for everyones safety and committees contribution. Thanks and accept my alopogies Neal.

  12. Apology accepted..Let me clarify some facts.

    1) SUAC manages Post 1 and 2 while the Phase 4 committee manages Post 3. Given the lack of checking at Post 3, SUAC had to hire another guard to monitor any cars without stickers entering Phase 2 or 3.

    2) The recent break-in at 5/4 was due to the lack of checking at Post 3.

    3) SUAC requested a meeting with the committee of Phase 4 over 6 weeks ago but received no response.

    4) The committee of Phase 4 has in no uncertian terms told me to stay out of their business and that they don't need my help.

    5) The committee of Phase 4 told me in no uncertain terms that it is not any of my business if their guards sleep on the job and they do not want me to notify of them of such.

    6) The Police had earlier requested that I take over the secuirty of all of Seri Utama to which I refused.

    7) The committee of Phase 4 insisted on managing Post 3.

    8) Management of all posts must comply with the rules as highlighted in the MOU signed between SUAC and Phase 4's committee. They have elected not to comply with the terms of the MOU. Given that a MOU is not a legal document, thee is little SUAC can do except for placing a sentry guard at the intersection of 5/6 and 5/5 to protect us.

    9) Residents from 5/19 who blame SUAC for their misfortune should check their facts and read the MOU which is available on our blog.

    10) Post 1 & 2 are extremely strict and check on each and every vehicle. cars without vehicles are then tailed to ensure that they are indeed headed for the stated location. Sentry guards also radio in cars headed to 5/5, 5/18 and 5/19 to the patrolling guards of Phase 4. Unfortunately, the patrolling guards of Phase 4 only respond to such information when they feel like it.

    11) It was SUAC who developed the system, tuned the walkie talkies for the benefit of Phase 4's committees, changed our walkie talkie channel to accomodate the Phase 4 guards etc etc.

Please do not take the above as a rant but rather as facts on the ground. The committee of Phase 4 has even gone so far as to ban me from emailing them or communicating with them as they deem me to be too harsh.

  13. Dear SUAC,

Is the day guards go on Hari Raya holiday????? There are NO guards patrol in our area (5/15) almost 2 hours.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Could you kindly provide me with the date and time of such occurence? Also, please note that on occasion, during heavy traffic hours, one will notice reduced patrolling as the guards track each and every car (without sticker) that enters our streets. Thanks for your observation and feedback.
