Security Alert

Please be advised there are incidents where contractors from MBPJ asking residents to open their gates in the pretext to check for mosquitos and then asking for RM100 to do fogging. Some of the contractors were asking irrelevant and suspicious questions like the residents whereabouts during CNY and etc. SUAC have instructed our guards to lead them out of the Taman since they are soliciting funds to do this service. SUAC advise everyone not to let anyone to come in to the house to check for mosquito unless they are in MBPJ uniform and present MBPJ letter showing proof of checking. We have the right not to let unknown personnel to go into our house.

Although we can’t stop MBPJ contractors from coming in to do their respective job but everyone of us will have to be extra careful especially with the festive season coming. SUAC will enforce more stringent measures for the contractors coming into our Taman.  If anyone spotted any suspicious character loitering in our Taman, please call out guard HOTLINE 24 hours @ 0122385508.

SUAC UPDATE

Residents may have observed that our guards are now equipped with face scarf. While this may look a little scary, this was implemented to protect our guards from the constant exposure to the rays of the hot sun. Some of our guards have had problems with their skin (facial) and suffer from swollen eyes as a direct result of constant exposure to the sun. SUAC places a huge burden on our guards of constant patrolling and checking each and every car. This is unlike most other tamans where guards patrol on an hourly basis. The workload is heavy and very taxing. We must look after their welfare if they are expected to perform to our required standards. Thank you for your understanding.

POST 2 UPDATE

In the spirit of neighborliness and cooperation, SUAC has decided to delay the implementation of not recognizing the current G, K & R stickers till December 1st, 2012. This delay will enable the Phase 4 committee to introduce and distribute new stickers to their residents.  Phase 2 & 3 residents are encouraged to use the new stickers so our guards can easily identify our residents. We apologize for any inconvenience.

SUAC SECURITY ALERT

Please be advised that there has been a significant increase in the number of suspicious cars entering our taman. They provide our sentry, at post 1, with fake addresses and proceed to drive around the taman. Upon realizing that they are being tailed by the patrolling guards, they quickly exit the taman. One highly suspicious vehicle which has entered our taman is a taxi with 2 men passengers (heavily tattooed). The license plate of this taxi is HB 6643.

When their numerous entry attempts to the taman failed, they waited outside post 1. They then followed one of our residents to Giza, the Strand and back. This alert resident spotted this taxi following him and reported the incident to the police and SUAC. SUAC then checked the log book and determined that this taxi has been entering our taman for purposes other than visiting friends or family. Their intent is not clear but it can’t be good.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions. Should you spot this taxi in our taman, kindly advise the guards. If you feel that you are being followed, kindly drive to the nearest police station. Better safe than sorry!

SUAC OFFICIAL STATEMENT ON APPREHENSION OF SUSPECTS

SUAC wishes to personally thank OCPD ACP Arjunaidi for meeting with us recently to discuss issues on crime. It was indeed very kind of Tuan OCPD to take time off his busy schedule to arrange for a late night meeting with us and for that, we are very grateful. SUAC would also like to thank Balai Polis Kota Damansara for their swift action in arresting the suspects, following the tip-off. Thanks again to one and all for their assistance.

NABBED

Thanks to an alert resident who sighted the car and thugs involved in the parang attack on our guard, the perpetrators are now in police custody. A huge salute and thank you to our alert resident.

SUAC RESPONDS TO HORRIFYING PARANG ATTACK

It was indeed a horrifying experience for our guards. Crime is on the rise in Kota Damansara. Some guards in Section 6 have been spotted arming themselves with parangs. New gangs have penetrated Kota Damansara. The stories of happenings at other tamans in KD are just as horrifying, if not more. Why do we have to live in fear? Where are the authorities? Where do we turn for help?

SUAC’s immediate plan:

1) Post 2 will be manned by 2 guards instead of one.

2) Sirens will be installed at both guard houses.

3) Our guards have been advised not to fight these criminals. Should such criminals attempt to enter our taman again (we know they will), guards have been told to allow them entry. Guards have been briefed on our new emergency protocol (EP). The EP will be activated only when our “guarded” members or their property are deemed to be at risk or in danger.

4) “Guarded” members are rest assured that SUAC has your interest at heart. Our guards have been briefed thoroughly on maintaining your security.

OCPD ACP Arjunaidi is now aware of the matter. This is not the first time that Seri Utama has been under attack. There have been numerous incidents that have been horrifying. We put this one video on our blog as we were able to capture the entire footage from our CCTV. SUAC is in a dilemma; should we highlight the numerous incidents or not? We don’t wish to scare our residents on one hand but the reality must also be highlighted.

SUAC is now hoping to arrange for a meeting with OCPD ACP Arjunaidi and also PEMANDU. If we are able to arrange for such a meeting, SUAC will like to highlight the dangers we face day in and day out and also put forth the many ideas that we have.

So far, residents of Phase 2 & 3 have been safe. Our guards are doing a fantastic job. Unfortunately, we also face the problem with numerous residents who have stopped paying citing that the security is so good that they feel that they can stop paying. This results in strains on our monthly budget. If this continues, SUAC may have to stop our current system and resort to the old system with half the number of guards. The decision lies with you, our residents.

PARANG ATTACK ON OUR GUARD

In a recent incident, the car in the video attempted to trick our guard into allowing them to enter our taman. They did manage to slash our guard with the parang but fortunately there was no serious injury. Such incidences are common in other tamans. In another recent incident, a guard was murdered in section 6 during a robbery similar to one seen in this video. SUAC has decided to place two guards at post 2 effective immediately.
